The International Blockchain Olympiad (IBCOL), founded in 2017, is an annual competition for students to solve real-world problems using Web3 and blockchain technology. Now in its 6th year, the IBCOL 2023 finals will be held in Amsterdam, offering participants the chance to showcase their skills, gain experience, and potentially win prizes or recognition.

GET STARTED

1. Assemble your Team

Any current or recent student regardless of age may form a team of up to six members

2. Define your Challenge

Pick a problem area that you are passionate about solving, for any SDG(s)

3. Describe your Solution

Write a whitepaper and submit a video to explain your work (sample provided)

4. Build a prototype (optional)

Create a proof-of-concept to better demonstrate your work (tools provided)

5. Register to Compete

Submit your project to the IBCOL and take note of local IBCOL deadlines

Important Dates

If there exists no national blockchain olympiad committee or national-level nominator in your country or territory, the deadline to submit is Monday 18 September 2023 at 23:59 GMT+2.; below are some other key dates to take note of:

Deadlines is the calendar date up to 23:59 (midnight minus one; GMT+2 Central European Time). Late submissions shall not be considered unless exceptional circumstances, such as but not limited to war, civil unrest, natural disasters, and force majeures, as approved by IBCOL on a case-by-case basis.
